The destination has long traditions as a popular resort. The comments usually include words such as “genuine, scenic and sincere, excellent hospitality and welcoming attitudes”; highly valuable opinions which oblige and need devotion.

Many temptations

Destination Vemdalen is one of Scandinavia’s most snowsure ski resorts, but the area is becoming a year-round destination. A growing number of people are realizing how much the destination has to offer also during the dry-land period.

Summer is a delightful time in the area. Who can resist the well-preserved fishing waters, the interesting hiking trails, Mount Sonfjället’s impressive national park, all the events, playing golf or the tempting mushroom and berry forests?

Autumn means hiking season. Fresh and pure air, family trails all over the area, stunning views and tempting activities; on foot, on horseback or on a bicycle.

‘Local produce’ is a current buzz word, in Vemdalen we use the expression ‘home-made’. Because that is the way it is. The local producers can guarantee an absolute minimum of transports of their delicious products. Sample destination Vemdalen – all year round! The results of things carried out with joy are usually excellent, and the joy and delight are also created in this area.

Destination Vemdalen comprises three ski resorts: Klövsjö/Storhogna, Vemdalsskalet and Björnrike; all included in the same ski pass. A unique investment is being finalised before the season 2011/12: Vemdalsskalet is the first Scandinavian ski resort to build a modern six-seater chairlift in the children’s and novices’ ski area.
