Fäviken Magasinet
For many, many years Kallbygden has attracted visitors and the area early became an international destination. Already in 1897, Sir Winston Churchill came to Kallbygden and the village Kolåsen for outdoor recreation, hunting and fishing. The individual service and warm hospitality has always been the trademark of Kallbygden.
There are many ways of exploring Kallbygden: you can do it by car, on bicycle, walking or on the back of a horse.
Another option is from Lake Kallsjön; book a seat onboard M/S Drottning Sophia and see the area from another perspective.
The cave systems around Lake Kallsjön attract a growing number of visitors: Bergsjögrottorna, Fävikshålan and Kvarnbäckslabyrinten are the three largest cave systems in the area and the longest one has one km long galleries.
Among the other popular places to visit are Kolåsen with a Sami chapel, the slate barns Skifferladugårdarna in Gråsjön, the rock paintings in Hästskotjärn and the country’s northernmost manor in Huså with mining settings, exhibitions and hiking trails. The gem among the events is Fäviken Game Fair, the outdoor fair with daytime activities and dance nights which every year attracts large crowds to Fäviken, primarily all those interested in hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation.
