In Härjedalen, in the middle of Sweden lies Funäsfjällen, an unexploited and exotic mountain world with more than 60 peaks with an altitude in excess of 1,000 metres. Many people claim that the tallest and most beautiful peaks south of the Arctic Circle are found around Funäsfjällen.
Here the musk-ox roam freely and in the highlands, the reindeer outnumber the people; just fancy having the wilderness this close.
There are actually roads and parking high up on the mountains, meanwhile you anticipate the serenity just a little bit away, maybe even a musk ox or the glacier-clad Mount Helags. The wide expanses, the quietness and the nature experiences provide a sensation of harmony, genuineness and magic. Here you find the time to live and to explore.
Nature’s own larder tempts with delicious treasures such as cloudberries, chanterelles, morels, game fish and clean water. Just pick what you want.
