Fishing
The River Gimån, so rich in fish, together with the many lakes and tarns forms a fabulous sport fishing area in Bräcke Municipality. Lake Revsundssjön with a fine stock of brown trout and shrewd big pike is the favourite among trolling enthusiasts with almost a guaranteed catch when conditions are ripe. Lake Flottringen, the wilderness water, where Arctic char and brown trout hover in the late summer nights, gives the anglers extraordinary experiences.
The lakes Hemsjön, Sundsjön, Bodsjön, Hällesjön and Pån are some other waters where fishing simply has to be experienced. Famous far beyond the national borders are the excellent streams Idsjöströmmen and Stavreströmmen in the River Gimån. Fly-fishermen from all over Europe gather here.

Bräcke’s gem
The area around Forsa is fascinating and mythical with impressive nature. The Forsaleden trail stretches for 7 km along the River Forsaån, in parts through rocky forest terrain with natural pools and waterslides. Along the trail are information boards describing the cultural history of the area, picnic areas and beaches. Among the attractions are the rock paintings dating back to the Stone Age, the remains of Forsagården, one of the parish’s largest farms with many traditions and also Iron Age graves. Here are many rare plants due to the calciferous ground.

Winter in Bräcke
Feeling the cold air on your face and seeing the crisp white snow is an extraordinary sensation if for the first time you are experiencing the genuine winter in Jämtland. Spend a day on skis on the tracks, in the forests or on an ice-covered lake.
Try skating indoors in an ice-skating hall or on one of the many man-made outdoor ices. There are good and gentle alpine ski slopes in both Gällö and Kälarne. Within the municipality are some 600 km of snowmobile trails, and also trails leading to Ånge in Medelpad, Åkersjön in Western Jämtland, to mention but a few. Fishing on the ice in springtime is a hard-to-forget experience. The sensation of sitting on the ice on a beautiful winter-spring day with the jigging rod in your hands, feeling the fish bite is hard to match.
